A statement issued by the Ministry of Planning on Wednesday showed that Egypt's gross domestic product grew by 5% during the period from January to March, compared to 4.8% during the same period last year.
The growth rate in the first quarter of the year exceeded previous expectations of 4.6%, as a result of high oil prices and supply chain disruptions due to the Iranian war.
